Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Introduction

Rumo Intelligence LTD ("Rumo") is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in all our business activities. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in any form, both within our own operations and in our supply chains.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps we are taking to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains.

Our commitment to "intelligence with a conscience" is a core principle that guides our firm, and this includes a fundamental respect for human rights and a commitment to ensuring we are not complicit in any human rights abuses.

Our Organisation, Business, and Supply Chains

Our Business

Rumo Intelligence is a strategic advisory firm based in the United Kingdom. We specialise in providing bespoke AI training, speaker sessions, fluency-building coaching, and strategic support to leaders and organisations. Our services help clients navigate complex technological and ethical challenges. Our operations consist primarily of professional services delivered by our expert employees and a curated network of specialist associates.

Our Supply Chains

As a professional services firm, our supply chain is not as complex as those in manufacturing or retail. However, we recognise that risks can still exist. We have identified our principal supply chain categories as:

  1. Global Associate Network: A network of specialist sub-contractors, including expert trainers, speakers, and senior consultants, who partner with us to deliver services. This is a key area of focus for our due diligence.

  2. Technology and Data: Suppliers of IT hardware (laptops, servers), software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms, and specialist data or software providers. We are mindful of the high-risk nature of the global electronics supply chain.

  3. Corporate and Professional Services: Providers of legal, financial, recruitment, and marketing services.

Policies in Relation to Slavery and Human Trafficking

We have established a framework of policies to ensure we conduct business ethically and to prevent modern slavery:

  • Supplier Code of Conduct: This policy is being developed to explicitly outline our expectations for all suppliers and partners regarding labour standards, human rights, and compliance with the Modern Slavery Act.

  • Employee Code of Conduct: Our internal code sets the standard for ethical behaviour for all employees, emphasZing integrity, professionalism, and respect.

  • Whistleblowing Policy: We provide a secure and confidential channel for all employees and external partners to raise concerns about any suspected wrongdoing or unethical conduct, including any modern slavery risks, without fear of reprisal.

  • ESG & Ethics Policy: Our core business identity is linked to providing intelligence "with a conscience." This policy guides our operational and strategic decisions, ensuring we consider the human rights impact of our work.

Due Diligence and Risk Management

We assess and manage our risk in the following ways:

  1. Supplier Vetting: Our primary risk lies with our global network of associates. We conduct rigorous due diligence on all sub-contractors before engagement. This includes assessing their reputation, professionalism, and commitment to ethical practices. We are in the process of incorporating explicit modern slavery checks into this vetting process.

  2. Contractual Obligations: We are working to embed clauses in our supplier and sub-contractor agreements that explicitly require them to comply with all applicable anti-slavery and human trafficking laws.

  3. Internal Awareness: We recognise that our own team is our best defence. Our investigative and analytical staff are trained to identify risk and red flags as part of our core business, and this awareness is applicable to our own operational integrity.

Training

Awareness is critical. All employees are made aware of our firm's commitment to ethical practice and our zero-tolerance position on modern slavery. Our associate network receive guidance on identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Future Steps and Commitment

Rumo Intelligence is committed to continuously reviewing and improving our practices. Our objectives for the coming year include:

  • To formally roll out our Supplier Code of Conduct and integrate it into all new supplier contracts.

  • To enhance our due diligence process for our global associate network to include specific modern slavery risk indicators.

  • To provide formal training on the Modern Slavery Act to all staff, particularly those in management and procurement roles.

This statement has been approved by the leadership of Rumo Intelligence and will be reviewed and updated annually.
